The Kazashko mayor's office received a letter of greeting from Novorossiysk. The Novorossiysk urban district includes the Cossack stanitsa (settlement) of Natukhayevskaya, with which the village is twinned. The letter is addressed to the mayor and residents on the occasion of the festival and was published on the village's official page.
The twinning dates from 2019, by decision of Varna Municipal Council. The link is tied to the village's Cossack origins. The descendants of the Nekrasovites who founded Kazashko maintain contacts with Cossack communities in Russia, including the stanitsa of Natukhayevskaya near Novorossiysk.
The greetings came a few days after Sailors' and Fishermen's Day, the village's biggest summer celebration.
