On 24 June 2021 two Lipovan Cossacks from Romania arrived in Kazashko. They had decided to retrace the route taken by the village's founders more than 110 years ago. The voyage took 5 days and covered more than 250 km by water, from Sarichioi to Kazashko, in a two-person “lipovanochka” (a small Lipovan fishing boat).
Mayor Gergana Petkova welcomed them and presented them with certificates in recognition of their determination. The travellers talked about the expedition. During their stay they also found distant relatives.
Sarichioi is the village from which Kazashko's founder, Matvey Rusov, set out in 1905. There is more in the history of the village.
