Kalinushka visits the Cossack community in Tataritsa

The Cossack women of the Kalinushka folk group visited Tataritsa, linked to Kazashko by fate and by marriage, and Silistra.

On 16 November 2024, at the initiative of the secretary of the community centre (chitalishte), the Cossack women of the Kalinushka folk group visited Tataritsa, today a district of Aydemir, and Silistra on the banks of the Danube.

Tataritsa is linked to Kazashko “by fate and by marriage”: these are the two Old Believer communities in Bulgaria. The hosts were the organisers of the Cossack community there, Yana Gavrilova and Olga Ivanova.
